Moro Warrior is the first of two books exploring the extraordinary life of Sultan Mohammad H. Adil (1924-2011). Sultan Adil, the Moro Warrior of the book’s title, was born into the Magindanaon nobility and lived an adventure-filled life that bridged multiple worlds. His remarkable life journey took him from American colonial ward to teenage guerrilla officer in the Second World War to highly decorated Philippine military officer on the Mindanao frontier to Rebel General in the Moro National Liberation Front and, finally, to investiture as the Sultan of Cotabato. It is a life that personifies the turbulent and heroic history of the Moros of the Philippines in the twentieth century.
